Christmas Care, Providing temporary shelter for the homeless and lonely over Christmas
Celebrating our 26th Anniversary
As Chair I am pleased to state that the Christmas Care Shelter is well organised and a safe place for volunteers and guests. It is our aim to help the homeless and lonely over Chrismas.
When our guests come in on Christmas Eve they can shower, have a complete change of clothing and foot wear. Our guests are welcome to breakfast (8am to 9.30am), lunch each day (1.30pm to 2.30pm) and a buffet in the evening, at no time in the 24 hours over the four days are our guests refused a hot drink or food.
We normally expect 70+ people for a turkey dinner on Christmas day and we can accommodate 70+ each day for food and company. We make the shelter as homely as possible, we provide easy chairs, TV, games, books etc.
The shelter could not run without all the volunteers and we are always appreciative for those who give up their time over the Christmas period, we are also very appreciative to the schools and people who collect donations on our behalf and also the people in offices and businesses who donate and sponsor us.
Thank you for all your help and time.
